Kovatch Enterprises Continues to Develop More Ways to “Go Green”
June 06, 2011
Kovatch Enterprises continues to develop more ways to “go green” with the proposal of a large wind energy project on property located on Broad Mountain, about a mile north of PA Route 54, currently owned by Kovatch Enterprises, Inc. The project would be developed by Enercon, LLC, a company headquartered in Paterson, NJ, which specializes in renewable energy, and particularly wind turbines.
Kovatch Enterprises, Inc., is already home to the site of a planned 10.6 Megawatt ground-mounted solar-energy-generating plant, one of the largest solar facilities on the East Coast. When completed later this year, the PA Solar Park will generate enough electricity to power about 1,450 homes and eliminate more than 320,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions over 30 years of operation, which is the equivalent of planting more than 25,000 acres of trees.
KME has also been doing its part in helping the planet by expanding its company-wide recycling program. In 2010, Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corporation recycled 76% of its manufacturing waste materials. It was recently recognized by Turtle Plastics, one of its suppliers, with its first annual Recycling Champion of the Year award.
The Kovatch Organization is committed to doing its part to help the environment!
